Automobiles Ettore Bugatti was a French automobile maker of elite cars, founded in 1909 in the then-German city of Molsheim, Alsace by the Italian-born industrial designer Ettore Bugatti. The motor vehicles were known for their design magnificence and their many race triumphs. Well-known Bugattis incorporate the Type 35 Grand Prix autos, the Type 57 "Atlantic," and the Type 41 "Royale," the Type 55 sports vehicle.
The passing of Ettore Bugatti in 1947 proved to be the end for the brand, and the death of his son Jean Bugatti in 1939 ensured there was not a successor to lead the company. Close to around 8,000 automobiles were made. The company struggled financially, and released one final model in the 1950s, before eventually being purchased for its plane parts business in 1963. In the 1990s, an Italian business mogul restored it as a builder of limited production exclusive sports cars. Presently, the name is owned by the Volkswagen Group.
In 2010, two designers, Stuart Hughson of Liverpool and Robert Gulpen of Munich, chose to unite and make something delightful. The outcome of this joint effort was fascinating: a 1:18 scale gold replica of the Bugatti Veyron. The product, made of 24 karat gold and 7.2 carats worth of encrusted diamonds, is known as the Bugatti Veyron Diamond Limited Edition. With just three of these luxury cars made. The price tag of this piece is € 2.4 million, which is more than the original car itself.
