About Ram

Ram, formally known as Ram Trucks, is an American truck manufacturer specializing in commercial vehicles and pickup trucks. Until 2010, Ram was produced by Dodge as a sub-brand. Following 2010 however, Ram Trucks was established as a separate division under Fiat Chrysler Automobiles LLC. It carries the emblem that was previously used by Dodge, depicting a ram’s head in chrome. Ram produces its cars in the US and in Mexico and exports it to regions including the Middle East and South America. The division is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Dodge produced the first Ram vehicle in 1981- a light-duty pickup truck. After the creation of a separate division in 2009, Ram-branded trucks and vans have been produced exclusively by Ram Trucks rather than by Dodge. Ram has a truck lineup comprising a number of categories. The Ram Pickup is its flagship line and features the 1500, 2500 and 3500 models. The latter two models are heavy-duty pickup trucks that can be used for commercial purposes. The Promaster and Promaster City are Ram’s lineups of lightweight commercial vans. Other lineups include smaller pickup trucks including the Ram 700, 1000, and 1200- these are sold in South America and the UAE.

Ram prides itself on its customer loyalty for its pickup trucks. The RAM 1500 has been described by one survey as one of the most reliable pickup trucks; customers on average will own the truck for 7 years. Additionally, the Ram 1500 boasts the best fuel economy in comparison to competitor pickup trucks. In 2004, the Ram SRT-10 produced by Dodge was named the fastest pickup truck in the world. Today, however, Ram trucks are built for performance rather than sports purposes. The trucks are fitted with powerful engines and aim to provide maximum space for storage, making the vehicles ideal for heavy-duty work and long travel drives.
