About BAJAJ MOTORS

Bajaj Motors is an Indian global company that manufactures two and three-wheelers. It is based in Pune, Maharashtra, and manufactures auto rickshaws, scooters, and motorcycles. Jamnalal Bajaj founded Bajaj Motors in Rajasthan in 1945. It has plants in Pantnagar and Chakan.

Bajaj Motor’s origins go back to November 29, 1945, with its original name being Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited. It launched its motorcycle section in 1986, and in 2017, it announced its merge with Triumph Motorcycles to manufacture mid-capacity motorbikes. Bajaj operates in 50 countries and creates a line of bikes that target entry-level buyers. Bajaj started by selling two and three-wheelers in India, which were imported. It obtained its license in 1959 from the Government of India for the manufacture of two and three-wheelers.

Bajaj is India’s largest motorcycle exporter, and its exports account for approximately 35% of the total sales, with 47% of these exports being to Africa. The Boxer brand is the biggest seller in Africa. Bajaj was the first manufacturer in India to produce the 4-stroke commuter motorbikes with a sporty tendency. Bajaj managed this with the manufacture of the 150cc and 180cc Pulsar, which gave the Indian people their first experience with performance bikes. This was followed by its creative marketing styles, which featured their frontrunner product, the Pulsar 220 DTS-I that appeared in the first ever-biking reality show, the Pulsar MTC Stuntsmania.

Motorcycles Bajaj produces Discover, Platina, Avenger, Pulsar, CT 100, and Dominar. Bajaj motorcycles have won numerous awards, such as Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS bagging the Bike of the Year award in 2010 from BBC- Bike India and TopGear. IN 2008, the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi earned the Bike of the Year award from the significant automobile magazines in India, such as AutoCar, Overdrive, Bike TopGear, and Business Standard Motoring.

Bajaj was renamed Bajaj Tempo after it bought controlling shares in the company Tempo Firodia. Daimler-Benz from Germany was a long-time partner with Firodia and owned 16% of the Bajaj Tempo. Daimler-Benz ended up selling back their shares to the Firodia Company, which meant they once again had a controlling stake, with Bajaj owning 24%. They agreed to phase out the name Tempo as it belonged to Daimler-Benz.
