About MAGNI

Magni is a company based in Italy and builds specialist motorbikes. The company is based in the Varese province in Samarate city. Magni also manufactures and supplies select parts used to restore the classic motorcycle-MV Agusta.

Arturo Magni was born in 1925, and he started his illustrious career under the famous Piero Remor. The MV founder, Count Domenico Agusta, hired him in 1950 as a chief mechanic. Arturo helped the struggling race team by collaborating with the company’s engineers to turn MV into a force to reckon with. Arturo helped to shape the company’s four-cylinder race bikes into world champion-worthy bikes.

Top motorcycle racers who rode for MV included Mike Hailwoood, Ubbiali, John Surtees, and Giacomo Agostini, who had 15 world championships under his belt.

After MV’s race program shut down in 1976, Arturo started his shop with his sons, and he produced a custom-framed MV by using his customer’s bike and leftover engines from MV. A Magni MV includes a bigger 861cc engine, a Magni dry clutch, a Magni chain-drive conversion, and an MV style frame.

The first redesigned bikes by the Magnis were the MV Sport and MV America and 750cc and 788cc MV Sport road bikes. In the early 1980s, Magni built Honda 900 Bol d’Or copies called MH1, which had no fairings, and MH2, a full-featured bike, fully faired. Approximately 300 motorcycles were produced.

As the MV engines dwindled, Arturo moved to BMW, Honda, and Moto Guzzi. From 1982 to 1983, Magni shifted to the 1000cc BMW boxer engine and designed a new frame and parts. The bikes came in two types, the MB1, and MB2, which had all sorts of accessories. Driven by high demand in the market, Magni’s bikes shifted to being entirely Italian, relying on Moto Guzzi for their engines.

In 1999 Arturo debuted the Sport 1200 S, which merged the modern Suzuki 1,156cc engine with the classic look of the 750S. Arturo and company have built more than 2,000 Magni-frame motorbikes. If anyone came up with an MV four-cylinder engine, the Magnis still sell the accessories anyone would need to create a Magni 861.
